Information

The plate includes a spectacular 7 cm Dicranurus monstruosus, famous for its dramatic long curved spines, alongside a beautifully preserved 7.5 cm Crotalocephalina gibba displaying excellent surface detail. Both specimens have been expertly prepared offering  a glimpse of the Devonian sea floor.

Collected from the Pragian-aged Ihandar Formation at Látchana, Maider Basin, Morocco, these trilobites lived approximately 410 million years ago in the warm tropical seas of the Early Devonian.

Association plates preserving multiple trilobites together are considerably less common than single specimens. Whether representing animals buried during the same sedimentary event or preserved in close proximity on the ancient seabed, they provide an especially appealing display and a fascinating snapshot of Paleozoic marine life.

The striking contrast between the heavily ornamented, spiny Dicranurus and the smoother, broad-bodied Crotalocephalina creates a visually balanced composition, making this a true museum-quality cabinet specimen.
