Information
Exceptional plate featuring two large specimens of Asaphus sarsi from the Middle Ordovician Elnes Formation (Helskjær Member) of Øvre Eiker, Drammen, Norway.
These uncommon Scandinavian trilobites measure approximately 8.7 cm and 7.6 cm, preserved in dark grey limestone with excellent contrast and visual presence. Both specimens have been carefully prepared, revealing fine anatomical detail while maintaining the natural character of the matrix.
Large paired Asaphus sarsi displays of this quality are rarely available and make outstanding museum-grade cabinet specimens. The elegant composition and deep black preservation create a dramatic and highly decorative fossil display.
Dating to approximately 460 million years old, these trilobites represent life in the ancient Ordovician seas that once covered Scandinavia.
