Rare and beautifully preserved specimen of Megistaspis elongata, preserved in a natural rolled (enrolled) position and collected from the famous Ordovician deposits of Slemmestad, Norway.
Measuring approximately (add size), this trilobite displays the characteristic deep black jet coloration that makes Norwegian Ordovician fossils so distinctive. The specimen has outstanding preservation, with crisp anatomical detail and a natural three-dimensional enrolled posture that captures the defensive behavior of these ancient marine arthropods.
Megistaspis elongata lived in the warm seas covering Scandinavia during the Middle Ordovician, approximately 470 million years ago.
